Hey,
You’re getting this because you signed up for one great find each week from Nest n Thrive. This is issue #1, so a quick word on what to expect:
One great find. A real product I’ve used or vetted carefully. Honest, specific, tradeoffs spelled out.
One practical tip. Something I learned the hard way that might save you from learning it the hard way too.
That’s it. Two things. About 60 seconds.
One great find: the Nectar Mattress, two years in
I bought the Nectar Memory Foam mattress in 2024, coming off a $150 spring mattress that was actively making my back pain worse. Two years and a pulmonary embolism recovery later, I still notice the difference every morning.
The story isn’t that the Nectar fixed everything. It’s that it cleared a low bar (sleep without making things worse) faster than anything else I’d tried, at a price (around $799 on sale) that’s less than half of most options I considered. The 365-night trial means you can sleep through a hot summer and a cold winter before deciding. The lifetime warranty actually means something at this price.
If you’re mattress shopping, two things to read:
The full Nectar review, with what works and who should skip it: https://nestnthrive.com/reviews/nectar-mattress/
The new comparison guide for the whole sub-$1,500 category: https://nestnthrive.com/best/best-mattresses-under-1500/
One practical tip: actually use the trial period
The thing nobody tells you about mattress trials: most brands require a 30-day “break-in” before you’re allowed to return. They’re not being annoying. New mattresses genuinely change feel over the first month as the foam decompresses and your body adapts. If you decide on day 7 that you hate it, you’re probably wrong. If you decide on day 35 that you hate it, you’re probably right.
Other thing: order the mattress on a Wednesday or Thursday. A boxed mattress takes 24 to 48 hours to fully expand, and you want it ready by your weekend testing nights, not still puffing up while you’re trying to sleep on it.
That’s it for issue #1. If you have a product you want me to test, or a question you want answered about something in this niche, just reply to this email.
